Systems Grief & Holy Power

#MondayInsight:

This message is about systems grief, holy power, and radical innovation.

In the wake of the US Supreme Court ruling that presidents are immune to prosecution, this past July 4th (the Independence holiday in the US) felt different—like it might be the last one where I can celebrate the country I’ve known.

If my social media feed is any indication, I wasn’t alone.

After last Tuesday’s broadcast about this, Donna Boris from The Courageous Messenger community wrote to me saying, “Thank you for naming how difficult it is to navigate the chaos as systems are crumbling. In addition to grief, there’s also a deep sense of betrayal because the institutions we relied upon to protect us are now actively harming us—taking away rights and attacking democracy and the rule of law, paving the way for even greater harm by others who have cruel intentions.”

So if you’re feeling this, you’re by no means alone.

We’re experiencing “Systems Grief”—the grief that arises when the systems you’ve known and trusted (like the US Supreme Court) start to crumble. And it can be heartbreaking.

Systems Grief is a strange kind of grief because it can be difficult to point to one thing that’s causing it, and it’s not something close at hand like a relative dying.

One thing we know about grief is that it’s something you can’t bypass when it shows up. You have to process it in order to get to whatever might be on the other side of it.

So that brings us to how this relates to accessing power and using it to fuel the innovation of humanity’s new story…

If we’re here to activate a new story for humanity, we actually have to grieve the systems that will be transformed.

Because until we do, our energy is often depressed and we can’t access the power and vision needed to bring new trailblazing solutions forward.

Years ago, my guidance said, “Jeffrey, you’re here to help leaders embrace holy power.” When I asked what that meant, the reply was, “Holy Power is the complete expression of divine truth in real-time, without hesitation, manipulation, or control.”

The reason I mention this is that Holy Power wakes up on the other side of grief. That’s when visionary messages and impulses flow with creativity, vitality and truth.

It’s incredibly evocative and has the potential to wake up the benevolent rascal inside that knows how to shake sh*t up and have fun doing it!

When we grieve, embrace holy power, and access radical, holy power, that’s when we are most on purpose and bring much-needed new solutions to the world.
