Stepping Out

#MondayInsight:

Last week, I had two calls on the same day with leaders who were frustrated by their lack of traction on social media.

The thing is, both of these women are meant to be with people. They light up any room they enter, creating a captivated audience that naturally listens, learns, and follows.

However, both of them were sitting at home, hiding behind their computer screens, rather than getting out to meet and network in their communities.

In other words, they weren’t playing to their strengths.

I share this because too often, I find people are either unaware of their zones of genius or not structuring their business models and marketing strategies to align with their innate gifts and talents.

You might look at the marketplace and make assumptions about “how it’s done.” Yes, it’s great to learn from others when it’s aligned with your values. But far too often, I see people copying models, tactics, and strategies that either don’t align with their values, don’t play to their natural gifts and talents, or both. This misalignment disrupts their leadership, business, marketing, and money-making strategies. Sure, you might be able to make some money, but thriving becomes impossible.

How YOU’RE meant to do your work is a unique formula for you to discover, implement, and expand. This is especially true when you’re answering your life’s big calling because your truest work always requires the best of you!

It’s important to trust your internal signals—whether something feels right or not—and act accordingly. When aligned with your design, your instincts usually lead to the most successful outcomes.

The key takeaway?

If you’re someone who naturally shines in person, prioritize being in rooms with people. If you’re a savant with a pen, find places to publish and publish often.

If you need to learn more about your design, do it. All those assessments you’ve taken, consults and readings you’ve had? Re-read them and internalize the insights.

OWN how you work.

Then get creative in designing how YOU do YOU in business.

Because that’s how your work will really, truly  work.
