What happens when you think your ideas are too big?
You know the feeling I’m talking about…
Like you’re almost scared to tell people about the unique approach you envision in your mind.
If this is you, it’s actually a good thing. It means you might be ready to become a disruptor.
Your idea should be so big people have problems understanding it at first.
This contradicts what we learned in marketing classes, doesn’t it?
We’re always told to do things that will make people like us. To position ourselves in such a way that our audience will want to buy from us.
There’s nothing wrong with this approach… But it’s not going to make you a thought leader.
For that, you’ll have to be bold and do something others have never even heard of. Something your tribe didn’t even know they needed… until you offered it to them.
My journey mirrors this concept.
When I started tribal marketing in 2009, I focused my work on finding people’s wounds and using them as training for the person’s life purpose.
But it wasn’t until I started working with my mentor Suzanne that I saw the connection between wounds and the market.
This became my unique offering.
Now, have people told me I was crazy? That I shouldn’t be talking about wounds because people don’t want to hear about that stuff?
Absolutely!
But something in my gut told me I needed to keep going.
And I did. Little by little, people started accepting my message – and that’s how I built my tribe. People realized they needed my message, even though it was foreign to them.
That’s what I’d like you to do. Rather than going down an existing path, I want you to create a new one for yourself.
Don’t be afraid to share your big ideas. Embrace them and send them out into the world. The number of people who receive them might surprise you.
