Most of the folks in my world, in their heart of hearts, are deeply devotional people. There is a flame that burns within them, attuned to the Divine, which they are devoted to following. 

And they’re usually in my world because they are endeavoring to follow their callings through business and entrepreneurship. 

I consider this relationship to business more about stewardship than ownership. 

Ownership asks the question, “What do I want?” while stewardship asks the question, “What does it want?” (“It” being the vision and consciousness you are stewarding) 

So, as we enter the New Year, we have to engage with questions about the future a little differently. 

Instead of focusing solely on what you want, the invitation is to listen deeply to what the work you’re called to do wants. What does it desire for itself in the world? What does it ask of you? What does it seek to express through you? 

Here are a few questions to help you tune into the consciousness of the work you are stewarding, the consciousness of the people who are asking for this work, and your own wants, needs, and desires.

Imagine and experience that your work has its own lifeforce, and that everything required for its full expression is connected to it. Ask that energy —that lifeforce—these questions:

•   What’s your vision for this work in 2025 and beyond (perhaps, a vision I’ve been unwilling to see)?
•   How can I best support that vision?
•   What does the market need from us most that we’re meant to respond to?
•   How is this work meant to impact, transform, or radically alter those we’re here to serve?
•   What do you most want from me in 2025?
•   What do you most want for me in 2025?
•   How can we best partner together this year?
•   Is there anything else you want to share with me as we enter this New Year?
